Millington Makes Waves: First Lone Sailor Monument Breaks Ground July 4

Millington is making history—and the community gets a chance to join in.

With support from generous individuals, local businesses, and a county enhancement grant, momentum is building for Tennessee’s very first Lone Sailor Monument. This meaningful project, in partnership with the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation and Navy League, will honor the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of the many Navy members who have called Millington home.

As the home of Naval Support Activity Mid-South—the world’s largest inland naval base—our community is uniquely positioned to tell this story.

We’re excited to share that groundbreaking is set for July 4th, marking the start of something truly special. Community support continues to drive this effort forward, and every contribution brings us closer to completion.
